Hip spacerSpacer Moulds

Spacer moulds can be used to produce temporary cement spacers for infected joints. For these applications, an appropriate antibiotic-loaded cement should be used.  The spacer moulds are made of medical grade silicone.

To determine the right size of the spacer mould for the patient during preoperative planning, x-ray models are available.

Knee Stage one spacerHip spacer moulds

The hip spacer mould is available in four sizes with head diameter varying from 43 mm to 64 mm. The hip spacer mould should be filled with 2 to 5 packs (80 to 200 gram) of cement depending on the size of the mould used.


Knee spacer moulds

The knee spacer mould is available in four different sizes. Each knee spacer mould for femur and tibia should be filled with 2 packs of cement.
